Overall the draft Masterplan seems to prioritise development over life quality. It defended the need to lose parking and recreational areas to 'rationalisation'. It failed to defend the integrity of the Green Belt over housing and commercial development.
If this is policy we have a fight looming.
KDW calls on the Council to preserve the current Green Belt
We want the draft report rewritten to confirm that the green belt limits releasing new housing land within Kidlington. The council must make a firm policy commitment to comply with Government policy to protect the Green Belt. This is essential to deter speculators from trying to downgrade the surrounding land.
The proposed landscape appraisal should be struck out. The existing Green Belt already provides a defensible boundary.
